This policy explains what this website collects, why we collect it, where it goes, and how to have it removed. It covers the contact form at /contact, the confirmation email we send after you submit it, and the pageview analytics that run on the site.

01 — Who this policy covers
Wilke Welding Works Inc. is an owner-operated mobile welding business based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 53590. This policy applies to wilkeweldingworks.com and to the information you send us through this website. It does not cover what happens when you call or text us directly, which is a normal phone conversation, or information you give a third party such as Facebook before you reach this site.
There are no user accounts on this website. You do not create a login, and we do not build a profile of you beyond the request you submit.
02 — What the contact form collects
The only place this website collects personal information is the contact form. Six fields are required because we cannot quote a welding job without them.
The remaining fields are optional. You can submit the form without any of them.
We do not ask for a Social Security number, a date of birth, a driver’s license number, or payment card details anywhere on this website. Do not include that information in the job description. Billing, when there is any, is handled directly between you and Chris, off this website.
03 — Job photos you upload
Photo uploads in plain terms
Photo upload is optional. If you attach photos, you may attach up to three images in JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, or HEIF format, up to 5 MB each. When you submit the form, those images are uploaded to our file storage provider and saved with your request. We use them only to understand the repair before we arrive: to see the break, the material, the fit, and the site access.
Each stored photo is reachable through a long, unguessable web address. That address is included in the request email sent to Chris so he can open the photo on a phone in the field, and the filenames of your photos are listed back to you in your own confirmation email. The photo pages are not listed in our sitemap, are not linked from any public page on this site, and are not indexed for search. Treat the address as private but not secret: anyone who is given the exact link could open the image.
We do not publish your job photos on this website, post them on social media, or use them in advertising without asking you first. If we ever want to use a photo of your job in our own marketing, we will ask you for permission for that specific photo.
Only upload photos you are comfortable sharing. Avoid including people, license plates, documents, or anything else in frame that is not part of the repair.
04 — How we use what you send
We use your information to do the job you contacted us about:
- Reading and understanding your request.
- Calling, texting, or emailing you back about the work.
- Sending the confirmation email that contains your request number.
- Preparing a quote, planning travel, and setting up the mobile unit for the job.
- Keeping a record of the job so we can look it up if you call again or reference the request number.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent, trade, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. Submitting the contact form does not add you to a newsletter or a marketing list. If we ever start sending promotional email, it will be something you opt into separately, with an unsubscribe link in every message.
05 — The confirmation email and your request number
One transactional email per request
When you submit the contact form, the site assigns your request a short reference number and sends one automated email to the address you entered. That email confirms we received the request, shows the reference number, and repeats the details you submitted, including the filenames of any photos you attached. Its purpose is to give you a written record and a number to mention if you call about the job.
This is a transactional message, not marketing. It is sent because you asked us to look at a job, it is sent once per submission, and there is nothing to unsubscribe from. A separate copy of your request also goes to Chris at chris@wilkeweldingworks.com so he can respond.
We send these emails through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend processes your name, email address, and the contents of the message in order to deliver it on our behalf.
06 — Website analytics
This site runs privacy-focused pageview analytics so we can see which pages people actually use. It records aggregate information such as which page was viewed, the referring site, the general device and browser type, and an approximate country or region derived from your IP address. It also records anonymous counts of certain clicks, such as how often the call and text buttons are pressed.
The analytics do not use advertising cookies, do not follow you to other websites, and are not used to identify you personally. Analytics data is not connected to the name, phone number, or email you enter in the contact form. If you prefer to block it, any standard tracker-blocking browser extension or a browser privacy mode will stop the script from loading, and the rest of the site will keep working normally.
This site does not run advertising pixels of its own. If you reached us by clicking an ad, the advertising platform that showed you that ad, such as Facebook or Google, handles its own data collection under its own privacy policy, and you should read that policy for details on what it does with your activity.
07 — Who else can see your information
Wilke Welding Works is owner-operated, so in practice Chris is the person who reads your request. A small number of service providers process the data on our behalf because they run the website infrastructure:

These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us. Beyond that, we share information only if the law requires it, or if it is genuinely necessary to complete work you asked for, such as ordering a specific material for your job.
08 — How long we keep it
Retention
We keep submitted requests, including any uploaded photos, as a record of the work. Job records are useful for a long time in this trade: a repair we made three years ago often explains what we are looking at today, and customers regularly call back about the same equipment. We keep requests and photos for as long as they remain useful for servicing and standing behind that work, and for as long as we are required to keep business records.
If you would rather we not keep your information, ask and we will delete it. See the next section.
09 — Your choices and how to reach us
Email chris@wilkeweldingworks.com or call (608) 999-1596 and you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we have from your request.
- Correct anything that is wrong, such as a mistyped phone number or the wrong job location.
- Delete your request and any photos you uploaded.
- Stop contacting you.
Include your request number if you have it, since that is the fastest way to find your submission. We will handle the request within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. There is no charge, and asking will not affect how we treat you as a customer. If we have to keep something for a legal or accounting reason, we will tell you what and why.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information under state or national privacy law. We apply the choices above to everyone who asks, regardless of location.
10 — Children
This is a commercial welding service for equipment owners, property owners, and businesses. The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a child has submitted the contact form, email us and we will delete the submission.
11 — Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you type into the contact form is encrypted in transit. Submitted requests and photos are held with the hosting and storage providers described above. We keep access limited to what the business needs. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not keep information we do not need, and we do not collect payment details here at all.
12 — Changes to this policy
If we change what the website collects or how it is used, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. The current version is always available at wilkeweldingworks.com/privacy-policy.
